Objectively a bad film but I had a lot of fun with it. I love that Charlie Hunnam’s geordie accent came out at certain points and ‘You can’t even lift a wheel of cheese, you cunt.’ is one of my favourite line readings in recent years.

Dry, dusty towns, piercing stares and as much gunslinging as you can shake a stick at make this a hugely enjoyable Western. Sergio Leone's direction and cinematography is beautiful (every shot is a masterpiece), and Ennio Morricone's score is haunting. The dubbing is a bit hard to take (and hard to understand at times) but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the film. Clint Eastwood makes wearing a poncho look effortlessly cool, which is no mean feat.

I admit to being something of a novice when it comes to horror movies. My expectations of Texas Chainsaw going in were far worse than the actual film. Horror movies today seem to rely on cheap scare tactics to terrify audiences. I kept waiting for the jump scares and gore but they never came. Instead, there is a sense of dread and terror that starts from the opening narration and ends with the last shot. It is what isn't shown or explained that's far worse than anything that ends up on screen and the movie is far more effective for it.
