The black-and-white tone of the film and the style of a silent era comedy film seem to suggest that this is just a story that takes place in a distant time, but because of the topicality of the story, I was so captivated by it that I wanted to retell it to my friends in my own words before saying, "You'll have to see the film to know what I'm talking about. It has a similar feeling that Modern Times gave me, when I watches with a smile on my lip, the corners of my eyes already contain tears.

    Joker

It's hard to imagine that Hollywood would be willing to endorse something so dangerously subversive.

The Joker isn't quite a horror movie, but it's certainly not a superhero movie either. It can be scary as hell. Arthur Fleck is no master criminal; he's a sad, broken, exhausted bottom-feeder, a grassroots man who can't stand to be ignored any longer.

A movie about fighting back. It is the voice of the desperate silent majority that begins to roar. It awakens and cowers the comfortable classes.
