“I don’t have any potential” speaks more power than one may realise. I know of too many cases of deadbeat dads that do nothing for their children, only to repeat the cycle further down the line when those children grow up to become their dads. I’ve experienced it first hand; a self fulfilling prophecy if you will. A child’s (usually boys) lack of care from their fathers leads to a life of “no potential”.
