It's crazy in retrospect how the Sonic film series was able to course-correct and become a successful franchise following the eponymous hedgehog's awful initial design and the negative backlash it received. Since it's been about a month since I've watched it, all I'll say is I hate hate hate when sequels "undo" the ending of the previous film. Killing off Newt, Hicks, and Bishop (but especially Newt) retroactively ruins Aliens for me as it makes all of Ripley's efforts to save her all for naught.
