  I love a coming-of-age film (also known as a bildungsroman) and Dídí does an amazing job of capturing what it was like to be a teen in 2008. I didn't turn 13 until 2010 so this all was just a hair ahead of my time, but I was so nostalgic seeing old the Facebook, YouTube, and Google formatting. A big part of growing up means starting to understand your parents (for better or for worse), and realizing that they're people too.

  This is basically everything I wanted out of a film version of Wicked. (Genuinely the only thing I would change is the lighting!) I think the way John M. Chu adapted the story to fit the medium of film was incredible. Thank goodness they used practical sets and live singing - it makes the world feel real! I can't wait to see it again.
