  this wasn’t an easy watch. it just  gets too close. too close to pain and sorrow. to hate and love. too close to tenderness and confusion. too close to helplessness. 
  and as lame as this would sound, it gets too close to the cries and the whispers. 

  and oh my god, the RED. Bergman really thinks that’s the inside of the human soul. i mean, okkkk

  i really loved this movie
  as i watched, Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York came to mind. I thought it might’ve inspired Kaufman. not because one film is about making a film, and the other is about making a play. it transcends that. i found, however, that Kaufman said he never watched 8 1/2. knowing that, i was astound by how the struggles had these commonalities. 
  both films are v different experiences, however. they are in no way similar, but still one somehow reminds me of the other
