Rocky IV 1985
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Rocky 4 is the epitome of nostalgia making up for lack of quality. An overload of montages and incredibly direct dialogue removing any chance for subtext infect the entire movie. The stilted depictions of the American vs Soviet crowds as well as the respective fighters add to the artificial propaganda of the whole movie. Battleship Potemkin 1925
An interesting watch that holds up great production wise. The scale of many of the major scenes is impressive and helps establish the significance of the drama. Much of the messaging is pretty direct but is accomplished in an entertaining and well done way. While I don’t watch silent films often, this is one definitely worthy of a recommendation for its distinct feel and timeless quality
