Too much to say just like there was too much to see.
Rushed when it needed to slow down, slowed down when it needed to move forward. How can a 3.5 hour long moving rush anything of importance? Shocking but this film does!
Some brilliant things, but I left pretty underwhelmed.

Despite the title, Mizoguchi makes the brilliant decision to focus his story around the brother and sister duo rather than the titular slave-lord.
This added nothing to the series for me. I’m a little surprised it’s so well liked.
Great cinematography including good use of long takes and some epic tracking shots. Efficient yet engaging storytelling. Nice hidden gem! Clearly filmmaker Andrew Patterson caught someone’s eye transitioning from this to his next film with a large cast of Hollywood big names.
