Corbin Pro

In Meet Joe Black (1998), Brad Pitt says "Errting guan be eyeree" and I just think that's the beauty of cinema.

The rising and setting of the sun is of no importance, nothing is sacred; Keitel is stumbling from one hedonistic bender to the next until he's confronted by the last gasp of "good" in him.

Accomplishes what the climax of Interstellar fails to. The vision of love as a salve for existential fear and nihilism is fully realized

Frantic energy that doesn't have a payoff. Brings ideas to the table and sort of... Leaves them there.

Toothless "satire" that takes easy potshots at both sides from a la-z-boy. Some exciting casting (Glenn Howerton 4ever) and kills

Genuinely didn't want it to end. Tried to keep my eyes open for the full runtime so I wouldn't miss a frame. Funny, heartfelt, innovative, and spectacular to watch.

Very meta satire that does what Wright's character is advocating for; creating a "black" story that isn't a caricature, with great characters that have depth. Would have loved a more narrowed focus and more Issa Rae, especially at the end after their first (and only) confrontation where they try to wrap everything in a tidy bow AND leave it ambiguous. You can't have your cake and eat it.
