When the music stops… what then?

Found this one quite entrancing. The juxtaposition of intimacy and distance is captured wonderfully. Original score does a lot of work here. It’s just on the verge of teetering over into overbearing territory, but straddles the line perfectly.

Queer is a queer film; not in its absurdity, but in its occasionally unintuitive pacing and rhythm. Still not completely onboard with how it plays out once they set out on their trip.

Particularly taken by the supporting performances, Craig was good too.

This movie was a bit of a mess, but I enjoyed it a whole load more than I probably aught to.

The quieter and more intimate moments of fragility is where the film is at its strongest. These are sadly  somewhat lost in the contrivances of a traditional drama, and the need for tension.

There is also way too much going on here, where we are introduced to five more storylines than we realistically have the time to delve into. It feels like a mini series that unsuccessfully has been condensed into a 2 hour film.
