    it is no secret that lino brocka had a brilliant eye. as fiel zabat shared during the talkback session, brocka developed a habit of observing people — how they behave and talk in various contexts and circumstances — and understood them with benevolence to which it extends into this film.

    saw the newly regraded b&w version! makikita mo talaga kung gaano ka nuanced yung mga facial expressions ng mga character… got goosebumps during the eclipse scene when the shadows slowly embraced the frame and you only see elsa’s eyes glistening… 

    sobrang fave ko na talaga ang film na to lalo na nalaman ko yung filmmaking process into making this masterpiece. i can talk about this all day and you will never hear the end of it! 

    also nakakatawa yung side comments ni lola sa harap namin haha it’s a whole different experience indeed

    this is my third zig dulay film and they really do have a knack for developing its setting so richly that they come close to having the power of becoming a character itself
