Mickey 17 2025
3.5 stars.
some really great concepts here—blurred identities, the "pioneer" spaceship as a colonialism metaphor, bread and circuses galore—and robert pattinson just having the time of his life doing the voice-overs and selling tf out of two separate roles (and he reflects both so well); unfortunately it lost a bit of steam in the second half and felt too convenient and predictable. still an extremely fun watch.

CTRL 2024
2.5 stars.
mid, but good fun. very clearly inspired by black mirror and searching (2018). the ending was very fun—with a broader field of vision, and characters who encompass more than two personality traits, maybe this could've been something gripping. as things stand, it's a great movie to get drunk to with friends.Translated from by

All We Imagine as Light 2024
4 stars.
beautifully shot, i like how it flashes between scenes & captures slices of life. different types of isolation in the city - through language, lack of intimacy, judgement; all portrayed really well. the final scene will stay with me for a long time.
could've been tighter overall, and i feel like it started a couple of threads and did not quite satisfy them - but a very excellent movie regardless.

irredeemable ultranationalist slop. i'll never get back the 2.5 hours of my life this stole. rated 0.5 instead of the 0/5 it deserves because of arjun kapoor being vaguely entertaining onscreen.
