Godzilla Minus One 2023
An ironically excellent movie, dripping with commentary on the Japanese psyche. Marvel could learn a thing or two.
I also love that even with all the modern CGI in the world, Godzilla keeps its puppet eyes. Kinda like how Yoda always has to be a proper puppet.

The Ides of March 2011
Ryan Gosling is my new favourite actor. He has more lines in this film than Drive, but his ability to "act" without speaking is again incredibly well used in Ides.
Add in a touch of Philip Seymor Hoffman, some George Clooney, and the guy from Sideways; and you end up with buckets of "soft power".

TT3D: Closer to the Edge 2011
This film is what I wanted Senna to be. A behind-the-scenes look at the mentality of motor racing. Why do these guys risk their lives for not much glory, and what happens when it goes wrong?
It's a wonderfully crafted documentary, weaving a story and creating moments of real suspense. If you're vaguely interested in motor racing or the Isle of Man TT, it's definitely worth a watch.
P.S. I didn't watch TT3D in 3D, but like most "3D" movies, didn't feel like I was missing anything.
