i am annoyed at this film because the performances are great, but everything still feels so lifeless in its surroundings. the film could have looked brilliant in the setting they are in and it just... doesn't?!
i love saoirse so much and think she still did a good job here, but even she couldn't make this film not boring

Call Me by Your Name 2017
The monologue performed by Elio's father was the moment I realised this film manages to epitomise the importance of simply feeling. It's okay to be sad about something, as it's human nature to want to suppress emotions once something has ended.
This will stick with me for a long time, not merely because of the nuanced, hidden acting that feels like you're with them all while they glide through summer, but through the visuals and spectacular pillar songs performed by Sufjan Stevens that envelop particular moments in the film with such delicate force you can't help but simply feel FEELS.
