Captain America: Brave New World 2025
Very exposition heavy. Probably the least interesting of the four cap movies. Cap’s action scenes were captivating but you could visibly tell it was a rushed and/or poorly composed film. Wanted a lot more from it, especially for Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez, who deserved better for their characters.

I went into this film screening with little context in mind, hoping to give myself a fresh perspective on this showing. I left with an abundance of curiosity, for the story and for the characters. Impressive acting all around, particularly from the lead. It was fascinating to see her struggle personifying inner demons and the vivid consequences on those who love and care for her. Sound department really embraced the spooky aura brought upon this movie and immersed you in a greyscale nightmare come to life.

If your goal is to feel super uncomfortable after watching a movie, this might be the one for you. An interesting take on greed and embracing one’s true altruism (or lack of), The Substance addresses the everlasting obstacle that is preserving your youth.
