Started off with an interesting premise. I guess I was expecting it to be more riveting, jumpy, scary, or have some splendid payoff. Perhaps there is some theme that went over my head, I read nothing about the film. Too subtle to be frightening and I didn't care enough about either character to be moved either.

Dark and disgusting, mean-spirited, and the final scene will make you wanna barf! Enjoyed it for the most part.

Been a fan of Jeffrey Wright since I first discovered him as Dr. Narcisse in Boardwalk Empire. Here he plays Monk, a disgruntled author too brainy and cynical for mainstream success. I found the premise of the movie to be delicious as candy, and had some other chompy themes, like families where everyone feels different and isolated but are in many ways the same. Perhaps we would all discover this if we were not all such terrible communicators.
