I’m gonna be honest, I had trouble staying awake. And i don’t think it was just my comfy couch.
And I usually like slow burn, low key sort of horror like this. Maybe you need to be Catholic for this flick to really get your motor running?
For a kid destined to bring end times, Damien just lacked verve. I feel like the understated score didn’t do it much help either.
Extra half star for the over the top beheading of the journalist. That was kind of fun and goofy. The comedic priest impaling also gave me a hearty chuckle.

Really does feel like a documentary, slow and without a lot of emotion or drama. I generally like horror/supernatural stuff that’s slow burn and not reliant on jump scares. Also, I generally really go for found footage/ documentary as a framework to add a little something to a fictional movie. Like, I loved Noroi.
