4th annual viewing and what better setting than in Hollywood Forever Cemetery on a chilly October night with the gang? I think it’s safe to say Trick r Treat has achieved cult classic status at this point. The Cemetery was sold out with 4,000 people in attendance. A blessing we got an introduction from Dougherty. The guy is really campaigning for a sequel, that I’m not sure is necessary, but I’d see it.

Not many new takeaways on the rewatch, but I just love this film. So fun and spooky.

I left this film and Q&A with much to think about, but mostly grateful that I had the opportunity to see this film in this setting with my friends. It’s a special one for sure. I will undoubtedly be rewatching this in the theater when it’s released nationally. The Brutalist is the 10th longest film I’ve seen and it thankfully has an intermission. Take note, Marty.

This is such a classic film for me since I grew up on it. I hadn’t seen it in years and was excited to revisit. I never noticed how great the editing is on this film. It really helps with the pacing of the 150 minute film.

My favorite performance goes to Alec Baldwin. He has a few just absolutely hysterical lines. My favorite character is Sgt. Dignam (Mark Wahlberg) probably for the final scene.

    The script is…

    20 Days in Mariupol

This documentary showcases the atrocities of war against civilians. There are some shocking images here of dying/dead babies, pregnant women, children, etc… the worst of the worst. The most important takeaway here should be avoid war and violence at all costs. However, the entire objective here as I assume this was funded by American media is that Russia is committing war crimes. Which is true, but this is true with every war ever fought. The U.S. has committed probably the…

Christopher Nolan put a Kubrick-level amount of research into making this story as accurate as possible and that should be the standard for any serious filmmaker.
