say what you will about this movie’s imagery and symbolism being “too obvious” or doubting the intelligence of the audience. what I absolutely adore about this movie is how it takes the horrible way men- um *ergh* I mean *people* view aging women, magnifies it, warps it, and throws it back it your face. They really said “oh, you think old women are gross? You think women over thirty five are unlovable, unfuckable, and invisible? Well we’ll show you gross. We’ll show you unfuckable. But she definitely won’t be invisible.”
