since i've actually spent money to watch this movie (fortunately not my free birthday ticket), i feel like the least i can do to redeem myself is give it a proper critique.
And before anyone says the obvious, I'm not writing this thinking it will matter. This is just for me.
• Timing and pacing
My biggest issue with this movie is the way nothing feels like it has a weight. jonathan's shoulder injury never complicates his movements, snow white…

how i do explain my experience with this movie?
hm... ok so tarantino *really* liked akame ga kill, his timeskips are a bit all over the place and lucy liu could slash me in half and maybe i'd ask for more.
a good analysis of shot manipulation, how directors handle female subjects and the effects of cinema in real life, but it really does feel sort of surface-level at times and doesn't explore topics that'd be interesting to discuss (such as pedophilia and lesbian couples through a man's eyes).
