I’m a sucker for an origin story. It was cool to see a fictional behind the scenes of something I remember really well from my childhood. Glenn Howerton is borderline too good at being a power hungry asshole and it was cool to see him in a bigger role outside of Sunny. Talking with some friends, I would still love to see him do a dramatic role that didn’t have to revolve around rage. Nothing about this movie was offensive…

Monkey Man 2024
Really fun action movie and Dev is incredible in it. Super solid directorial debut. I felt like it could have been trimmed up a bit, but regardless I still enjoyed it. The fight scenes were really well done and at times reminded me of the Raid films.

The Zone of Interest 2023
I had to sit with this one for a minute before I could review it. I just left the theater so heart broken and confused emotionally. Such an incredible way to portray an insanely dark time in history. The sound design alone makes this movie, but everything else is truly so top notch. You just feel like you’re witnessing a very normal family life, which is obviously the whole point, but they do an incredible job at it. It’s a heavy watch, but more in the way of KNOWING what’s happening and not necessarily seeing it. Incredible, incredible movie.
