Since i read it more than a decade ago this story was carved into my bones. Abstract the feelings away into robots, dehumanize the protagonists so they can learn to feel as human: the discrimination, the community, the memory, grief, joy and anger. Being a human is taken as if it was given, yet there's always so much new, so much to learn: things aren't static as our impresions make them be. I'm forever grateful for this story, both to Urusawa and Tezuka.
What's the good thing on being a good person?
We all know how disgusting is for someone who does good to show off his intentions and actions, as if the empathy was actually a drive for recognission. But at least you'll get to shield yourself.
