“great gowns, beautiful gowns”
the first half of this film was so restrained and intentional, I actually couldn’t have loved it more.
and then the second half happened and suddenly it felt like the movie was in a rush to speedrun through tragic and shocking events just for the sake of it. the reveals were obvious, and certain time skips felt a little cheap (???) and the events they led to, kinda unearned (???).
while it did have some great moments, towards the end saltburn did feel a lot longer than it’s two-hour and seven-minute runtime.
