I was very surprised to read these reviews and see people calling the family drama "uninteresting" or saying it takes away from the satire or whatever. To me, the family drama IS the story to be told here, then the A-plot serves as comic relief and justification for the family elements. I particularly enjoyed the ending, but honestly this whole movie was fantastic. Jeffrey Wright deserved an Oscar for this performance and it's a shame Oppenheimer came out the same year.

Moving Day 2024
As far as student films go, I cannot say how well this stacks up because I have not seen many. That said, even in my biased view of being friends with the director, I can say this represents a step forward for his confidence working within film and, though it isn't exactly narratively groundbreaking, is a very well-executed piece that demonstrates a prowess that I hope can continue to be developed in many films in the future
