why did they not actually develop a single character or plot point all the way?
If a movie is meant to be nothing but a compilation of poorly done bits and foreshadowing so heavy that the audience feels it like its wearing a weighted blanket - then yes, this was a "movie"
nothing in this movie created stakes or interest enough for me as the audience to care. characters died in what is supposed to be an emotional climatic battle scene. this scene just left the audience wondering "why the fuck should I care?"

this movie was gratuitous in its use of sexual violence. the camera movement caused the viewer to feel so disoriented which added to an overall feeling of being violated as the movie went on. having the ending of the movie being ellen having to "willingly" submit to count orlock's violence and abuse is a deeply troubling and harmful message. people romanticizing the relationship between Ellen and orlock are icky. this was…
