Bill & Ted Face the Music 2020
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Nearly 19 years after the last entry in the Bill & Ted franchise, I believe the filmmakers have topped the prior entries with this sweet, earnest story that seems more fitting than ever for our times. After a slow ramp up during the first 20 minutes, the flow doesn't slow down once they hit the first time capsule to the future. Here Bill and Ted are faced with the most difficult task, wrangling with unfulfilled potential, despite the fact they have…

The Final Girls 2015
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The longer time goes on, the more difficult it will be to come up with new and interesting ideas that pivot on some of the standard storytelling techniques. Plane 2023
I have no idea why this took so long to hit streaming, and I’ve been sad for almost 2 years that I missed this in its theatrical run. Fantastic action movie, one that we should get more of these days, but for some reason, Hollywood can’t seem to deliver. Gerard Butler is great as usual. Mike Colter is wonderful and should get more starring turns. And it’s nice to see Tony Goldwyn not have to play a weasel for a change. Aces all around.

Werewolf Cabal 2022
Had a chance to view this screener. Great storyline - The monster here is legit, excellent special effects and makeup work. And Jon-Paul Gates is an absolute standout with the way he eats up this man of the cloth character. Great independent genre cinema!

The Black Demon 2023
This film is a lesson on the importance of localization and local ownership of SHE and process safety in offshore oil and gas production. Also, Josh Lucas needs help from his agent.
Seriously, some laugh-out-loud moments in the last 20 minutes of this one, and the mistake was not leaning into those and going full camp.
I’m a sucker for shark movies and scuba diving movies. This just didn’t do a thing for me. I didn’t appreciate the cringy Jaws…
