Fun and quirky, this film was quite charming!
I do wish that the story had more of a specific focus, and that the political commentary wasn’t quite so obvious, but I understand that sometimes subtlety is hard when you’re discussing allusions to trump, musk, and discussions of white supremacy and colonisation. Besides, I have a feeling that bong joon ho feels the need to dumb things down when it comes to movies for American audiences- snowpiercer felt the same in its obviousness.
I will say it felt like punch in the throat when the producer credits ran and I saw that wanker Brad Pitt was involved.
