David Tennant and the whole cast - amazing
music and live band - incredible

HOWEVER this show did not need to be filmed and seen in theatres. the staging and costuming was so simple that it needed to be seen in person to be appreciated. there was so much action happening on and off stage, the camera was set on a wide angle for most of it and it felt like archival footage. also, why professionally film a live show…

get this man an asthma puffer, a round of antibiotics, a mani pedi, skincare regime, a psychologist and a tinder account and he might be okay and stop giving people the plague

this had the bones to be quite good. the dialogue needed a major rewrite and every australian character (except Bryan Brown) needed to be cut or not written as a giant stereotype. and for the love of god, someone get Sydney Sweeney a bikini that fits her

this is a near perfect film. it’s enjoyable and has that 90’s film writing style to it that when it’s right, ITS RIGHT. it’s the perfect length of 1hr 48mins, the story is concise and you get just the right amount of info to love the characters and fully understand the dynamics. the film is set across 36ish hours which makes it easy to follow and despite its age, most of the effects hold up. it is also an ode to practical effects and how cgi isn’t always the best fix
