“We’ll never get used to the Lord’s rough ways, Joseph.”

This was exactly my kind of film. Off-beat and surprising, slow and explosive, lit in shadow and in blinding sun. It’s… far from perfect, but the pairings of trope and novelty are sublime, and it’s terribly emotional.

A good companion piece to The Sisters Brothers.

Yeah this was fucking wild. Yorgos Lanthimos at his most… charming? Really quite a departure in all senses of the word. The set design and acting were absolutely delectable, and the sound design was unsettlingly effective. Acting on point. But still… it’ll be a while before I see this one again. Watching Lanthimos’s movies is like eating stinky cheese.

Sheesh, this movie is so 90s. I forgot how green and dirty it is. Honestly a pretty overrated film, but I think everybody know that. It’s fun, and it’s great when you watch it for the first time. The ending is kinda charming.

Still slaps. This movie is almost perfect. An iconic piece of sci-fi strangeness. Yeah it sucks, but it’s also the best thing ever made. So green.

    “Her eyes were green.”

What does it mean to be real? To exist? To be human?

A deep retrospective into our nature, and our meaning. Blade Runner 2049 challenges our perception of what we know as existence, and how we classify others.
    A beautiful film.
