I rate movies as 5-stars not because of the storytelling craft, or because of the cinematography or acting chops, but because they touch something deep within me. Once it gets beyond 4-stars, there is really very little to distinguish between what makes something merely an enjoyable watch or a true poignant / introspective moment. But that line, thin and fine as it may, is often what makes all the difference.

Honestly not sure if I should give this a one-up over the original 2032 / 2033 series, but this was certainly updated (graphics-wise); more cyberpunk; with a few more haunting music accompaniments (including an update of Konya wa Hurricane; Waiting For You; and Mysterious Night). Of course, there were some gems in the original that were never topped (including that amazing "live" version of Asu E Touchdown), the bulk of which were on my iPod playlist for years.
And ok, yes I had a major crush on this version of Priss Asagiri yes, I won't deny that.
