Everyone here is very game and I found the satire of geopolitical ineptitude intermittently really funny, but I kinda thought this was gonna get even more batshit than it ultimately did. At the very least, I figured it would lean into genre way more. Still, got a big kick out of this ending on the day being saved by a speech filled with nothing but ridiculous non-sequiturs and empty platitudes.

The Outrun 2024
I typically find addiction dramas to be pretty trite and formulaic, often feeling like acting exercises even at their most sincere. That said, Saoirse Ronan is one of our best young actors, so the floor is pretty high here. This definitely still suffers from the same pitfalls, but it did feel a bit more sensitive than they typically do.
