Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 2024
Literally no reason for the ex wife story line. Felt like there were too many directions in the plot and there was never any real suspense over whether things would work out. I thought the murderer arc was the best part and it basically fizzled out for nostalgias sake.

Loved the book series when I was younger. Was basically what I expect out of book adaptations these days. Pretty good but just slightly off in some way to make it miss the mark. Ngl I felt David was too pretty to be believable as an Ugly. Same with Shay. No chemistry either between shay and David's actors. It felt like they didn't do readings together during casting.

Winner for most depressing movie I've watched in a while. Especially with the ending. It's very "snapshot" style of a movie with no growth or change. However it's well done in what it's trying to accomplish and leaving the viewer on the same note of emotion that the main character is. I hate how realistic the story is too.
