The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
For some reason, I was able to access this movie on Netflix (even though it shouldn’t be possible outside of Japan) so I used the opportunity to watch the movie again (or—more accurately—finish what I started).
I almost teared up during this rewatch, actually.
Also—I said it before and I’ll say it again—the Japanese cast were SO GOOD. There should really be a LotR anime adaptation.

Had lots of fun with this. PERFECT adaptation of the first four volumes or so of the manga.
And the casting is pitch perfect! Kento Yamazaki made me believe that Sugimoto was immortal, Anna Yamada nailed the strength of Asirpa’s character, Yuma Yamoto was hilarious as Shiraishi, Hiroshi Tachi stole every scene Hijikata appeared in, and Hiroshi Tamaki singlehandedly had my favorite performance with his portrayal of Tsurumi.
I REALLY need to see the drama now.
