  The third in the trilogy. While I thought the second film dragged quite a bit, overall the trilogy is quite an epic achievement. Many tense and memorable scenes, some beautiful tracking shots, a great score, and a great lead in Tatsuya Nakadai. Even though I thought the second film dragged, I stuck with it because I had to find out what happened next to Tatsuya's character and if he would succeed in getting back to his wife. Great ending. Glad I took the journey.

  This film is done in the exact same style as a dozen or so films that I rejected when programming a festival (and that every other festival seemingly rejected too). Except this film is about 12 times longer than all of those films. Dear lord, what a chore.

  Good lord. It's one thing to be a dumb movie, but to also be incredibly boring? Only stuck it out for 50 minutes before deciding anything else would be more worthwhile.
