The Ascent 1977
There are those who die for something and others who live for nothing. I have never seen anything so brutal in the absence of violence.

Rear Window 1954
Rear Window (1954) is a film that boldly addresses postwar modernity head-on and is more than a run-of-the-mill Hollywood thriller. Made only four years prior to Vertigo (1958) – a film generally considered to be Hitchcock’s greatest – Rear Window is just as impressive, if not better, for its ability to keep us on tenterhooks with a surprising lack of on-screen action. For its complexity and for its social commentary, Rear Window is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Call Me by Your Name 2017
Timothee Chalamet is brilliant as Elio, and Armie Hammer plays conflicted egotist Oliver very convincingly. But despite the 5* performances, Call Me By Your Name so drastically tries to be profound and groundbreaking, and fails miserably at it. I mean, poor Elio, with all that money and time to spend falling in love!
This is average when it comes to Queer Cinema. Watch Moonlight instead.
