  Such an intricate spectacle <3
  This was my go to dvd to put on when I had painful fevers as a kid (which was a lot) - in a weird way it gave this film a more precious and comforting nostalgia, like a familiar fever dream

  I was hoping this film would eventually redeem itself for its 4*. 
  other than being a titillation for the male gaze in terms of its film performance, it offered almost nothing else. The focus could’ve been more on the gnawing decline of his mental state over the constant sexualisation of the actresses. almost all of the female characters were just sultry, provoking, cheaters or sex workers, in a menacing way, I found this very irritating. there was even a kid…

  I don’t think this film is as deep as I was hoping it would be. It did have some captivating shots and details that felt personal and nostalgic in the awkward and weird romantic behaviours we have in our teens. Teenage romance is something we can all relate to, but making a film about it should be made thoughtfully and I don’t think this was.
