  talked to my girlfriend about how the drag queens don’t ring true and the small town doesn’t ring true and how i found it annoying and kept reminding myself that it’s campy and not supposed to be realistic and she said “or maybe it’s just a bad movie.” sometimes you need that outside perspective to open your eyes to the simple truth.

  this movie somehow manages to feel so disconnected from both drag and americana that it makes me wonder who could have made it and who they made it for.
