It is I think entirely thematically appropriate, though nevertheless mournful, that it is near impossible to watch this film in 3D today.
3D TVs were a fad. By and large most 3D movies were not particularly good.
This film tries something fascinating with the technology and succeeds. It is beautiful and moving. It gives you a sense of depth of the caves that is integral to making sense of them as best as we can.
But the fad is over.…
