  Sadly disappointing with an undercooked leading romance and a messy, predictable plot, it does find charm in some good but unmemorable action, a great choice of lead and a surprisingly charming subplot

  Shyamalan is at his most straightforward here. The first half is very much a lot of fun, but thanks to a very interesting second half shift, Shyamalan shows his full hand and unleashes a shockingly tense thrill ride. Hartnett is great, as is Ariel Donoghue as his daughter, but there is a surprising revelation here: Shyamalan's own daughter Saleka. To say more about her role would spoil a lot, but she certainly handles her own, even with the extremely talented cast. It's just pure entertainment throughout, and finds a lot of success there.

  An exceptionally animated movie that doesn't rely on its animation alone, serving itself up as a fantastic film and sequel on its own.

  While the action is to be admired and discussed further on later, what truly shines in this sequel is the character writing, providing immense depth to all of its important characters.

  One would have seen the trailers and thought little of The Spot, but he definitely finds his footing here as a villain that deserves a lot…
