In Space….No one can hear you scream
The original Alien is one of my favorite films of all time. The claustrophobic atmosphere mixed with the groundbreaking special effects really made a terrifying and easily-to-rewatch classic. For years I have been hoping for an Alien film to capture that atmosphere and terror and lo and behold we have that film. I had very high expectations for this movie considering I really loved this director’s other take on a classic horror franchise…

Godzilla 1954
Quite simply this is one the most definitive and influential Kaiju movies. Taking a different approach to subsequent Godzilla movies, Godzilla has a darker and more serious tone. The movie also has a very interesting message it wants to send out: Humanity shouldn’t play god. This is presented through showing the consequences of nuclear weapons and through the oxygen destroyer later in the film. Overall, my favorite Kaiju movie and a great way to introduce the world to Godzilla! 5/5

I’ve been a James Cameron fan for a long time and this film and its sequel are a big part of why. This absolutely blew my mind when I was 9, due to its incredible visuals, brilliant atmosphere and great action. Rewatching it now I still am blown away by the cinematography and just the brilliant visuals by 2009’s standards and even today’s standards.
