Sympathetic action-slasher, nice healhty looking leads. Nice wardrope coding. He was going around on that bad leg for a long time, though, wasn't he? Mostly plays in daylight, all in all reminded me of a great summer's day hike out in nature - the evil inbreds are not really very scary or upsetting, there's sweetness to their mischief. Maybe I would have liked to see their brother dynamic more developed. Is that in the sequels?

Seeds 1968
First Milligan for me! I liked the resentful old lady and the intense psycho-drama, crossing so many all time classic taboos of the list, afflicting this nightmare family. It's like this sensational story, the limited production value and Milligan's curious george camera work are all of a piece. Lots of contempt, possibly for the audience too.

Special Operation 2025
As per the Q&A The film team was apparently able to get their hands on about 1000 hours of footage from Chernobyl, filmed with the mounted surveillance cameras there, unclear by whom, likely a collective effort by the workers held captive there early in the war. Mostly you see soldiers waiting, standing around there. Floating in the zoomed in pictures of the parking space. The almost comedic pointlessness of war. Made more strange through matching sound design.

I Was a Shoplifter 1950
Haha, I guess shoplifting is comparatively low stakes when you think of other noirs. For me the idea of a nation wide shoplifting ring is hard to take seriously. Andrea King is a good villain though, the best scene might be when she demonstrates superior shoplifting technique. The rest is enjoyable enough.
