A long lasting fave. Also the only play I’ve seen on Broadway . Still worth a watch 20 years later, if only to bust out “These Boots are Made for Walking” along with a stunning performance by Chiwetel Ejiofor then and throughout the film. Laugh, cry and sing. I love this film and what it made a landmark in trying to do for equality.

Friday the 13th 1980
Friday the 13th is the standout of the Golden Age of slasher films that I missed last October. Thus, even though it isn’t really fulfilling one of the Hooptober criteria, except, perhaps, decade, I start with this 1980 franchise progenitor.
