  I want so badly to love this movie more than I do but it just can’t live up to the book in my mind. Villeneuve I think did his best attempt to stay true to the book but it made the dialogue and deliveries awkward at times. Also not a huge fan of zendaya as chani. However the visuals and the action are insane, it’s no surprise how this is held especially if this is your reference to Dune.

  Fuck, I don’t know
  

  One of those films that is complex even at the surface, viewing it only as a detective flick. The development and contrast between Doo-man and Sang-kyung is very natural and well done. After exploring into the Korean influence in the film it was amazing to see how much depth this film really contains. Trying to capture the feeling and culture of Korea at the time and then using the plot to showcase the tension and trauma that the people faced. Truly an amazing and well crafted film.
