I can see the cinephiles’ reasons for looking down on this movie, but it’s just too fun for me not to enjoy. What a great time
There are a handful of inconsistencies that I’d love to iron out, especially regarding the ‘kicks’ between dream levels, but other than that, such a fun watch!

In my memory, this movie was like a 2, maaaaaybe 3 star, but I think 13 year old Austin was just a bit too snobby for his own good.
I believe it was after this movie that I started to read all of the Harry Potter books in the series and I was gobsmacked, utterly shocked at how much they’d omitted from the book. I mean how could they cut the sphinx from the maze…

Dang…. Yates really had to make this movie his first HP movie didn’t he? Absolutely epic wizard duels, the first we ACTUALLY get, since that Chamber nonsense doesn’t count. The Order’s entrance? DA stepping up in their first real battle against the Death Eaters? And, of course, Dumbledore and Voldemort’s incredible battle.
