Densely atmospheric and oppressive, only let down by a few cheap jumpscares and a few pacing issue near the middle. Willem Dafoe's character is fantastically written and performed, but I'm mixed on his inclusion since he's a constantly comforting presence in a film that otherwise is very effectively fixated on being a parade of disgust and dread.
