  Tries too hard to be 1917, ended up butchering a lot of the source material, not only story fidelity (not really that important tbh) but in meaning, motives and themes of the book, and that's a true shame.
  I still liked it, and i think it works in a lot of ways, not as an adaptation of one of the greatest anti-war books of all time, but as it's own thing, maybe 1918 German Boogaloo or Destroying Private Paul or something like that.
