Nothing is more terrifying on an existential level than entering the world of love and sexuality and realizing that you can actually see how your entire life is going to play out. Imagine the worst nightmare you ever had when you were a teenager—how stupid it looked, the comedy of it, the total lack of logic—and how terrifying it was anyway. This is that nightmare.
