  Very much love Miyazaki and Anno's transitions from the epic and accessible storytelling that made famous, towards the self-assured passion and atmospheric perfection of their later films. Boy and the Heron would conclude a Ghibli marathon perfectly, as a clean and tranquil middle-ground to what would be a tonally chaotic and emotionally intense evening.
