The Professor was an excellent performance. The cabaret singer was underdeveloped.
Also what kind of a friend asks her creepy friend to take a kid for a walk knowing there’s a child murderer on the loose?

Suffers a bit from comparison with the book, which is much bleaker, especially the ending. But I really liked the freakish carnival ride sequence and Rose’s heartbreaking performance.
Icky but realistic look at incels and their perverse, misogynistic rationalizations. Great soundtrack that shows why it was the “swinging” 60s.
minus 0.5 stars for the wailing towards the end, plus 1 star because Joel McCrea is very hot in this, especially *that* time
