“The first thing I saw was his long, long legs.”
    - Molly Drake on finding her son Nick Drake deceased in bed

I didn’t care much for anything that went on here. I was pretty disappointed at the lack of context or incentive with Nic’s character and thought the ideas were sort of trite among occult horrors.
It did make me think about the concept of possession, and the tightrope between compliance and obedience.

Anyways Mister Downstairs UwU doesn’t want…

    The Kissing Booth

    ★★★★★

The most transgressive psychological thriller in contemporary filmmaking, this movie apprehended me with disbelief - like a miracle - obliterating me. Kissing Booth is framed through the perspective of young Elle who is progressively groomed by college-bound longtime crush Noah — wooing her with an intoxicating concoction of threats and violent machismo. The idea to veil this harrowing story as a corny teen romcom is well deserved of praise; every scene fills me with gut-wrenching despair. Kissing Booth is difficult to watch as we sit audience to Noah’s warped, manipulative courtship of Elle, yet masterfully depicts the rose-colored glasses through which victims view their situation.
